Dodgy fangame made for RAGE in 2 days as an excuse to look at the Playdate SDK.

LORE

Stealth has taken over the Sonic Mania sequel dedicated to Sonic's racing games...and is turning all of it into Blue Spheres!
Crank through seven levels to restore order.

How to play

In-game, control Sonic via the D-pad... or the crank and the left/right arrows if you're feeling SPEEDY.

Collect (or run over because I couldn't figure out how sprites in mode 7 work that's too much math) all black spheres in a level to proceed to the next one.

If you run out of Rings, it's Time Over!

this is a really fun base but i think it would be more fun as a racing game, pretty much sonic r playdate edition. Good work

a very solid base! am interested to see what can be built on top of this :3

Do you have the Intellectual property licensing protocol from Sega  Corporation?

Hey! I get 'pdxinfo is missing' when sideloading via the website. And this is when I try adding the 'DriftMania.pdx' file.

Update: ...Oh. So there's a folder within that. That's misleading. I think you should avoid doing that and have the readme on the game page or within the game itself.

weird, I tried sideloading this zip with the readme in it and the website didn't seem to mind.

when I want to side load it, that doesn't work, it say :

"Could not find a top-level .pdx file."

Disk mode or website sideload? I tested with the website but for disk mode you'd need to extract the pdx folder I believe

Thanks it works now, I didn't see that there was a folder in the folder... my mistake

Not gonna lie, my dude, if you add more levels and fix the "spheres" to change color after being collected, I'd pay for this. Heck, I'd pay more if I can get to play with multiple characters.

So long as the game keeps being canon, of course.

tricky to make this a paid game, as it uses SEGA’s IP. Would likely need to change it to “Blue Skunk Drift Mania” or something and modify the character sprite accordingly.

That said, I agree that it’s a fun and engaging effort!

For the dev: I experienced a crash when playing on device - After getting a “Time over” on level 2, the game froze and crashed the Playdate.

Let me rephrase: I'm willing to offer my support in the form of a "donation".

Thanks for the kind words! I don't really plan on coming back to this for now but maybe I'll eventually fix the spheres so they're not just drawn on the track.

Donation increases if you add characters. xD Glad to hear that. You showcase a really promising concept, btw, you can really work on this to make it a separate release. I advise you to do that, there isn't really something like this on the PD (as far as I've seen).
